General Questions

Is the kitchen a nut-free environment?

No; we bake items that contain nuts in the same area as all other products.

Can I provide you with a picture of a design to copy?

Yes, of course! The final product may not come out identical to the photo, but we can replicate as close as possible. Many customer orders started with a picture they found; we then tweaked it to fit their style/ideas/needs.

Where are my items being made?

Your items are being made in our home kitchen. We are registered with the Home Baked and Confectionery Goods Program of the Arizona Department of Health Services. You can view our certificate here.

Can we trust your kitchen? 

Since we are a home bakery, we do not have the same inspections as a commercial bakery. However, we take pride in cleanliness and providing you with a safe and delicious dessert. All of our kitchen tools are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized before, during, and after use. We purchase ingredients per order, so you know you are always getting fresh, quality ingredients.

We are ordering a wedding cake- how much cake should we order?

Typically, it is best to order enough cake for 80 - 100% of your guests. However, this amount is subject to other factors, such as having additional dessert offerings, if you are serving alcohol (usually can reduce cake amount by another 10%), or if your friends/family enjoy cake.

Do you require a deposit?

For weddings and other large events, yes! We require a 25% deposit, with the remaining 75% payment due 2 weeks before the event date.

For smaller order, a deposit is not required, but full payment is due 2 weeks before the event date.

Can we use fresh flowers on our cake?

Of course! However, you need to be careful. Some flowers are treated with pesticides and other toxins that are poisonous. Check with your florist on what flowers you can use. If you do choose to place fresh flowers on your cake, your florist must provide them and either add them to the cake on site or work with us on site to add them.

Why are wedding cakes more expensive than cakes you buy at the store?

It is all about time. Wedding cakes require supports and structure to withstand layering. In addition, they require more detail. It is these factors that increase the amount of time spent on creating a wedding cake from start to finish and therefore increase the cost of the cake.

Shipping Questions

Why are my treats sealed in a strange bag?

When you receive your order, we want it to be just as fresh as the moment it came out of the oven! To help us accomplish this, we vacuum seal some treats in special bags. It may not be the prettiest of packaging, but it keeps your order super fresh! To enjoy your goodies, simply cut open the vacuum-sealed bag and dig in.

I'm a local customer, do I have to have my items shipped to me?

Of course not! If you are a local customer you have two options. The first is to have us deliver your items to you (a delivery fee may apply). The second option is to pick-up your items yourself.

What delivery service do you use?

We ship via USPS priority mail. You will receive a tracking number when your order has shipped. With priority mail you can expect to receive your shipment within three days.

How do I store my treats once I open them?

Your treats are best stored in an airtight container or a zip-lock bag.

How long will my treats last?

We have a feeling that your treats won’t make it long enough in your home to worry about shelf life. But just in case, cookies and pastries are best when enjoyed within a week. If you do not want to eat them right away, you can choose to freeze them in the vacuum-sealed bag for up to six months (this does not apply to sugar cookies).
